The Monetary Authority has issued a warning about fraudulent website www.hkcb.net operated by a so-called "Hong Kong City Bank".

The bank is not authorised to conduct banking or deposits-taking business in Hong Kong, nor does it have permission to establish a local representative office. The case has been referred to the Police.

Anyone who has provided personal information to the website or who has conducted any dealings through it should contact Police on 2860 5012.

Click here to see the list of authorised financial institutions in Hong Kong, or call the authority's public enquiry hotline 2878 8222.
