Man charged with impersonating a policeman
*
Hong Kong Police

A 47-year-old man has been charged with impersonating a police officer and other offences, including possessing an offensive weapon, resisting arrest and theft.

He will appear in the Kowloon City Magistrates' Court tomorrow.

The man was arrested yesterday at the junction of Ma Tau Wai Road and Sheung Heung Road in Hung Hom after he claimed to be a police officer and produced a fake Police Warrant Card for a patrolling officer who questioned him.

He also possessed handcuffs and a baton.

The man was suspected to have impersonated a police officer and is believed to have snatched $4,900 from a 29-year-old man in Sham Shui Po on May 9.
