241 tickets issued in Kowloon East traffic blitz

Police officers issued a total of 241 fixed-penalty tickets and 106 summonses to people violating traffic regulations on the Kowloon East Regional Traffic Day.

 

Up to 11pm yesterday, 212 officers from Wong Tai Sin, Sau Mau Ping and Kwun Tong were sent to traffic black sites in the region. They issued 206 fixed-penalty tickets for parking offences.

 

They cautioned 30 pedestrians and 124 drivers for committing minor traffic offences. The officers also distributed pamphlets and leaflets on road safety to road users.

 

A total of 607 traffic accidents involving casualties occurred in Kowloon East from January to April this year.
