Police seek info on baby boy abandoned in Yau Ma Tei

Info sought: The baby boy abandoned in Yau Ma Tei was wrapped in this white long-sleeved jacket.

Police are anxious to locate the next-of-kin of a newborn baby boy who was found abandoned in Yau Ma Tei yesterday.

 

At about 3.45pm yesterday, a 29-year-old Philippines man met a Philippines woman at the junction of Nathan Road and Waterloo Road in Yau Ma Tei. The woman gave him something wrapped in clothes and left immediately.

 

He found a newborn baby boy inside the clothes. The baby was immediately taken to Kwong Wah Hospital for treatment and the case was reported to Police.

 

The newborn baby boy, with an umbilical cord attached, is about 29 weeks on delivery and weighed 950g. He was wrapped in a beige long-sleeved sweater and a white long-sleeved jacket.

 

The Philippine woman who passed the baby boy to the man was aged about 30 and 1.61 metres tall, of medium build and with long hair. She was wearing a white T-shirt and a pair of dark blue trousers.

 

Police urged the woman, relatives of the baby boy or people who have information to contact Yau Ma Tei Police on 2359 8200.
