The Transport Department will launch a pilot project with Hongkong Post on April 10 to set up two new service counters in the Kowloon East Post Office to provide licensing services.

The Kowloon East Driver Licensing Counters will provide most of the driving licence-related services currently handled by the Kwun Tong Licensing Office.

Situated at the Kowloon East Post Office on the Ground Floor, Kowloon East Government Offices, 12 Lei Yue Mun Road, Kwun Tong, the counters will provide services from 9.30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, and from 9.30am to 11.30am on Saturday.

The services to be provided include:

* issue of learner's driving licence;

* issue/ renewal of probationary driving licence;

* issue/ renewal of full driving licence;

* addition of driving entitlement;

* renewal of driving instructor's licence;

* issue of duplicate driving licence / duplicate driving instructor's licence; and

* change of address of driving licence holder.

The Kwun Tong Licensing Office will continue to provide about 20 licensing services other than those listed above.

The department will review the pilot project in six months' time. If successful, it will allow the department more flexibility in providing licensing services to the public through different channels in co-operation with other agents.
