Police are offering a reward of $700,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the murder of a 40-year-old Thai-born Chinese woman in Wan Chai last October.
The tourist, who was about 1.56 meters tall and weighed 44kg, was found dead on top of an air-duct inside the air-handling unit on the 33rd floor of Revenue Tower at about 12.30pm on October 24. Her hands were tied behind her back with black plastic straps.
She was last seen wearing a short-sleeved white T-shirt, dark coloured trousers and a pair of sandals on board a hotel's shuttle bus in Yau Ma Tei at about 2pm on October 12.
Her handbag containing a passport, a few hundred dollars, two mobile phones, two bank credit cards and a pair of sunglasses was missing.
The reward, jointly offered by Police and two members of the public, is valid until July 23. The Police will determine whether it will be paid in full to one person, or divided among several people, who provide information leading to the arrest and satisfactory prosecution of the culprit or culprits.
