Seven more victims of the coach crash in Egypt and four of their relatives have returned to Hong Kong, the Security Bureau says, adding the remaining five victims who have been discharged from hospitals will return to Hong Kong soon.
The seven survivors were greeted on arrival at the airport by Home Affairs Department and Social Welfare Department staff today. They were then transferred to local hospitals for further observation and treatment.
The first group of nine victims returned to Hong Kong yesterday. Six victims are still being treated in Paris and three in Zurich.
The bureau said all relevant departments are making every effort to help the injured and family members of the 14 victims killed in the accident.
The Government has asked the Chinese embassies in Paris and Zurich to help Hong Kong residents hospitalised there.
It will continue to work closely with the Chinese embassy in Egypt, the Travel Industry Council and the travel agent concerned to facilitate early return of the residents.
The Immigration Department's 1868 hotline has received 16 requests for assistance so far while the Social Welfare Department's 6293 0120 hotline has also had 16 requests.
