*

Four immigration officers and a Hospital Authority doctor and nurse have left for Egypt to help the Hong Kong victims of a tour coach accident.

It reportedly overturned today, killing 14 Hong Kong tourists and injuring 29, while en route from Egypt's Red Sea resort of Hurghada to Luxor.

Secretary for Security Ambrose Lee said Chinese Embassy staff are also on their way to Hurghada to offer assistance. He offered his heartfelt condolences, adding: "The Government will offer every possible help to the families to tide over this very difficult period."

Mr Lee said the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit hotline 1868 has so far received two calls from the injured.
