320,000 travellers depart on Boxing Day

Immigration Department

A total of 319,989 people left Hong Kong through different checkpoints yesterday. The Immigration Department expects about 6.12 million people will travel through Hong Kong checkpoints during the festive period, up 12.2% on the same period last year.

 

About 48.2% left Hong Kong via the Lo Wu checkpoint, 21.3% left via Lok Ma Chau and 13.1% used the airport.

 

A total of 348,098 travellers entered the city yesterday - 50% through Lo Wu, 23.2% Lok Ma Chau and 11.8% the airport.

 

Since December 21, about 1.99 million holiday travellers have set off, with 48.5% leaving via Lo Wu, 21.1% Lok Ma Chau and 13.9% the airport. About 1.63 million people entered the city during the same period - 47.1% used Lo Wu, 23.8% Lok Ma Chau and 14.6% the airport.
