Police release 188 protesters

Police have released 188 protesters, including 150 Korean women. Investigations showed charges against them could not be supported under the Public Order Ordinance, and the Korean Consulate General arranged to receive its nationals.

Completing necessary procedures was difficult due to the uncooperative attitude of those arrested, and the need to arrange interpretation.

The Government says it respects individuals' freedom of expression but condemns those who breach the peace through violence.
