Police will adopt a reasonable and flexible approach in facilitating public meetings and processions during the WTO 6th Ministerial Conference, the Security Bureau says.
Responding to Amnesty International's open letter to Secretary for Security Ambrose Lee about the policing of protests, the bureau said the Government is committed to facilitating the right of assembly in a peaceful and lawful manner.
It said designated demonstration areas are close to the meeting venue, while site visits and briefings have been arranged for participants.
