Drug trafficker jailed 19 years
*
Hong Kong Police

A 34-year-old man has been jailed 19 years by the High Court for trafficking a kilogram of ice.

Police on September 3 last year intercepted a taxi and a car on Pratas Street, Sham Shui Po. A taxi passenger, 43, was seen passing a plastic bag containing the drug to the car's 34-year-old driver. The duo were arrested and charged.

The passenger pleaded guilty to three counts of trafficking and one of drug manufacturing and was sentenced to 14 years jail on July 7.

The driver was convicted after a week's trial and the sentence was meted out today.
