Public warned of fraudulent website
*
Monetary Authority logo

The Monetary Authority warns consumers to beware of fraudulent website www.1stdigibank.com ostensibly operated by First Digital International Bank.

The 'bank' claims it offers banking services here, but it is not authorised under the Banking Ordinance to conduct banking business or to take deposits in Hong Kong, nor can it establish a local representative office.

The case has been reported to Police. Anyone who has provided personal information to the site or who has made transactions through it should call Police on 2860 5012.

People should verify the status of any organisation making use of the Internet to solicit deposits. For a list of authorised institutions, click here, or call the authority's hotline, 2878 8222.
