Two Indian men, aged 28 and 30, have been jailed for up to four years for using and holding counterfeit banknotes.
The younger man pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 18 months jail today, while the other was convicted at the District Court after trial yesterday and jailed for four years.
He used a counterfeit $500 banknote in a Tsim Sha Tsui restaurant on April 17. Police raided a To Kwa Wan unit the next day and arrested the pair. Twenty-five fake $500 and 13 fake $1,000 banknotes were seized.
