Mainlanders arrested for hotel thefts

Police have arrested four Mainlanders over a series of hotel burglaries and thefts.

 

Since July Police have received 19 reports of burglary and theft from Hong Kong Island hotels.

 

The culprits checked in as guests, then broke into other rooms to steal valuables.

 

At 1.20am today, officers arrested four men while they tried to break into a room. They seized burlgary tools, two watches, $16,000, RMB1,600 and a small amount of foreign currencies.

 

The suspects, aged 28 to 40, remain in custody.
