The Independent Commission Against Corruption has charged A&T Service Company operator Wong Siu-sing, 42, for obtaining Food & Environmental Hygiene Department cleaning contracts of by deceit.
He pleaded not guilty to five counts of fraud at Eastern Magistracy today and was granted $30,000 bail. Magistrate Ian Candy adjourned the case to November 2 for a pre-trial review.
The court heard that between January 2003 and February 2004 Johnson Cleaning Services was a Food & Environmental Hygiene Department contractor. The department prohibits its contractors to sub-contract without approval.
Wong falsely represented he was an employee of Johnson, and sub-contracted its five contracts awarded by the department. Wong also falsely represented the concerned contracts were performed by Johnson, and induced the department not to take proper action against Johnson.
