Woman jailed for street deception
*
Hong Kong Police

A 32-year-old woman has been jailed three years for deception.

The two-way permit holder admitted to a charge of conspiracy to defraud.

The District Court heard that on June 3 a 52-year-old woman was approached by a woman who asked for the whereabouts of a "spiritual master" on Tip King Road in Tuen Mun and two others who claimed to know the master.

After being asked to collect her cash and valuables for spiritual blessing, the victim reported the case to Police who arrested the defendant. Officers believe she was part of a "spiritual blessing gang" active in the region.
