Holiday travellers set off

A total of 324,246 people departed through different check points on September 30 for the National Day holiday, with over half through Lo Wu, the Immigration Department says.

 

About 21% left via Lok Ma Chau while 12.8% used the airport.

 

A total of 285,120 travellers entered the city yesterday - 47.6% through Lo Wu, 23.1% via Lok Ma Chau and 13.8% the airport.

 

About 7.3 million people will travel through Hong Kong checkpoints during the National Day and Chung Yeung holidays, up 19% on the same period last year.

 

It is expected departures and arrivals will peak on September 30 and October 2. Highest daily traffic is expected to reach 530,000 on October 1.
