Police issued 407 fixed penalty tickets and 72 summonses to road users violating traffic laws during the Hong Kong Island Regional Traffic Day.

Concluding at 7pm, 183 officers monitored blackspots and 34 pedestrians and 240 drivers were cautioned for minor offences.

A total of 1,994 traffic accidents involving casualties occurred on Hong Kong Island from January to August, of which 51% were attributed to pedestrian negligence.
