Three travel agents have breached Travel Industry Council directives by employing unaccredited tourist guides, the Tourism Commission says.
In an operation against unlicensed travel agent activities in Hung Hom and Wan Chai today, council officers checked the credentials of tourist guides to ensure they held valid Tourist Guide Passes. No unlicensed travel agent or illegal tourist guide was found.
However, three agents are suspected to have employed three Hong Kong people without valid passes to work as guides. Records show they have completed tourist guide training, but have yet to complete accreditation procedures.
