Customs officers raided the largest ever pirated disk replication workshop and arrested four men in Western District yesterday.
Intellectual Property Investigation Bureau Customs officers found two pirated disk replication workshops, camouflaged as a garage and a decoration company in Western District.
They raided the workshops on Monday afternoon and seized about 10,000 pirated disks, 34,000 blank disks and 504 CD writers, worth $620,000 in total. They also arrested four men, aged 24 to 44.
Customs officers believed the two workshops were operated by the same syndicate, which used circuitous routes in Southern District to deliver pirated disks to shopping arcades in Mong Kok for sale.
