Blackmail victims urged to come forward
*
Hong Kong Police

Shop owners in Wong Tai Sin who recently faced extortion are urged to report to the Police.

The appeal was made following the arrest of a 30-year-old man on January 19 for blackmailing a shop in Tung Tau Estate, Wong Tai Sin.

The man approached the shop and demanded the shop owner pay $1,000 for a tangerine tree which would be delivered to the shop at a later time. He was arrested the same day after a report was made to the Police.

The man was charged with one count of blackmail today and will appear in Kwun Tong Magistrates' Court tomorrow.
