abandoned baby boy
Next of kin?: Police appeal for anyone with information about the newborn to call 2870 7254 or 2870 7263.

Police are anxious to locate the next-of-kin of a newborn boy who was abandoned in Aberdeen on Monday.

At about 6.45pm yesterday, a 52-year-old man called Police to report finding a baby abandoned outside an entrance in Ap Lei Chau Market in Hung Shing Street, Aberdeen.

The new bornbaby boy weighs about 2.8 kilograms and is about 46 centimetres long.

When he was found, he was wrapped in two T-shirts, one yellow and one white, and placed inside a red paper bag.

Police urge the baby's relatives or anyone who has information to offer to contact the investigating officers at 2870 7254 or 2870 7263.
