New 3-D computer game

Cyber crime fighter: Game hero Bruce Pak is the character tasked to combat intellectual property piracy.

An action-packed 3D computer game has been launched to promote intellectual property protection to youngsters.

Acting Director of Intellectual Property Peter Cheung said Anti Piracy Action Team, designed for youngsters over 10, was developed by the Polytechnic University.

The idea is to use interactive technology to convey copyright protection ideas to young people, and to showcase Hong Kong's abilities in the design and production of high quality electronic games.

The first-person action game features a 3D virtual environment of Hong Kong. Character Bruce Pak is an elite surveillance officer sent from the future to the present via a time machine to combat the Black Wolf Gang piracy syndicate.

The game is now available at the department's website, and CD Roms will be distributed to schools and non-government organisations free.
