New record: Commissioner of Police Dick Lee and Secretary for Justice Elsie Leung lead 3,100 Junior Police Call members and their relatives in popping 2,477 fight crime balloons within 10 seconds.

About  3,100 JPC members and their families popped 2,477 balloons within 10 seconds, breaking the previous world record of 1,603 set in the US early this year.

Guinness officials accepted the JPC's request to have the feat recognised as a world record, and documents will be submitted for verification.

Ms Leung called on the public to help Police fight crime, using their built-in weapons - eyes, ears, mouths and hands - to watch for crime, be alert, and make Police reports.
