The Police have issued 306 fixed penalty tickets and 117 summonses to traffic offenders in an operation in Kowloon East.

They issued another 262 fixed penalty tickets for illegal parking and other parking offences.

The Kowloon East Regional Traffic Day, conducted from 7am to 11pm yesterday, used 260 officers to enforce regulations at traffic accident blacksites and potential traffic accident locations in the region.

About 168 pedestrians and 235 drivers were warned for jaywalking and other minor traffic offences.

Meanwhile, pamphlets and leaflets with the road safety message were also distributed.

A total of 2,954 traffic accidents occurred in the region so far this year.
