Police are launching detailed investigations into the Tin Shui Wai family tragedy, Secretary for Security Ambrose Lee says, adding that the Government will not cover up the truth.

Mr Lee said he is deeply concerned about the incident and regrets the three deaths involved

"If there is any [officer] not fulfilling their duties or obligations, the Police have a set of mechanisms to deal with it," he said.

Mr Lee called on the public to be fair and give Police time to carefully study the case and find out what happened.

Enhanced handling of family violence set

Acting Commissioner of Police Gordon Fung said frontline Police officers have been reminded to be extra careful and sensitive when dealing with cases of a similar nature.

He extended his condolences to the family and their friends, and said Police will have meetings with the Social Welfare Department to study ways to enhance the handling of family violence cases.
