Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in North Point yesterday in which a 70-year-old man died.
At 12.10pm, a light goods vehicle travelling along the southbound carriageway of Gloucester Road reportedly knocked down the man who was crossing the road near Great George Street.
He sustained serious head injuries and was taken to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital where he was certified dead at 8pm.
Police appeal to relatives of the deceased and anyone who has witnessed the accident or has information to offer to contact investigating officers on 3106 8800.
