Woman dies at Tai Lam Centre hospital

*
Correctional Services Department

A woman remanded to the Tai Lam Centre for Women has died after she was found unconscious in the centre's hospital ward.

Ho Wing-kwan was given first-aid treatment when she was found at 10.23pm yesterday. The centre's Medical Officer and ambulance were also summoned.

She was sent to Tuen Mun Hospital, where she was certified dead at 11.10pm.

Ho, a 29-year-old drug addict, had been admitted to the centre on April 12 for trafficking in dangerous drugs. She was in the centre's hospital for treatment of withdrawal syndrome and was due to appear before a court on May 11.

The Coroner's Court will hold an inquest.
