Woman dies in bus accident in Central

A 57-year-old woman died this morning after being trapped underneath a bus in Central. Police are investigating.

 

At about 7.30am, a bus that had just dropped off its passengers reportedly knocked the woman down as it pulled away from the bus stop in Rumsey Street. The woman was walking in front of the bus.

 

After the impact she was trapped under the bus. Firemen rescued her and took her to Queen Mary Hospital. She was certified dead at 7.59am.

 

Hong Kong Island's special traffic investigation team is looking into the accident. Anyone who witnessed it is urged to contact Police on 3106 8800.
