Police have reclassified the death of a two-year-old boy as murder and arrested his parents.

The boy reportedly collapsed at his home in Hong Kin House, Tsz Hong Estate, Tsz Wan Shan, at about 5pm on February 7 and was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He was certified dead at about 6 pm.

An autopsy revealed he died of bleeding in his brain.

Police last night arrested his parents, a 36-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, at their home for murder.

They are being detained for enquiries.

Investigations by the Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon East are continuing.
