Four police officers and a civilian have been charged by the ICAC for suspected vice and other illegal activities in Yau Tsim district.
The defendants are: Senior Inspector Raymond Cho, 33; Sergeants Popy Lam, 42, and Kan Kwok-cheung, 39; Police Constable Jim Fai-keung, 35; and, unemployed Leung Chi-yin, 43. They will appear at Eastern Magistracy on Thursday.
Cho, Kan and Jim face one joint charge of conspiring together and with another person to knowingly live wholly or in part on the earnings of prostitutes.
Lam and Leung face one similar charge, while Lam alone has been further charged with one count of inciting two other people to conspire with him to live on the earnings of prostitution.
A fourth charge alleges Lam and Leung incited another person to conspire with the former to commit robbery.
Lam has also been charged with one count of possessing a prohibited weapon.
The remaining charge alleges Cho and Kan conspired to pervert the course of public justice. The duo are alleged to have taken part in a scheme to dissuade, pressurise or prevent potential witnesses in an ICAC criminal investigation.
The alleged offences occurred between February and September.
