A Correctional Services Department officer has been arrested for allegedly bringing about 1,000 tablets of soft drugs into Stanley Prison to use as bribes.
ICAC inquiries found the arrested officer had allegedly accepted over $10,000 from a prisoner as reward.
The officer was found in possession of about 1,000 tablets of suspected Midazolam, as well as a newspaper containing soccer betting tips and some food items allegedly intended for the prisoner concerned.
A woman, who had allegedly assisted in transferring bribe payments to a bank account controlled by the officer, was also arrested.
The arrestees have been released on bail. Investigations are continuing.
