*
Hong Kong Police

Police have arrested a 19-year-old van driver for suspected drink driving after his 23-year-old passenger was killed in a crash in Tai Po today.

Shortly before 7.43am, the van was following a New Territories-bound container truck on the Tolo Highway.

Near Hong Lok Yuen the vehicle changed lanes and hit another container truck, before crashing into the rear of the truck in front. The male passenger in the van was seriously injured and certified dead at Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital.

The male van driver was also injured and hospitalised, and later arrested for drink driving.

Anyone who saw the crash, or has information to offer, is urged to contact Police on 2675 3385 or 2677 6299.
