Police net the year's biggest 'ice' haul

*
Hong Kong Police

Police have seized $2.84 million worth of suspected 'ice' in Tsim Sha Tsui, making the largest single seizure of the drug in 2003.

Narcotics Bureau officers intercepted three men in the lobby of a Tsim Sha Tsui hotel at about 1pm yesterday and seized eight kilograms of the drug.

The three, aged 21 to 28, will be charged with drug trafficking and will appear at Kowloon City Magistracy on Monday.

At about 4pm yesterday, Police conducted a follow-up operation on Tsing Yi. They arrested a 28-year-man and seized five kilograms of cannabis.

Another 3.5 kilograms of suspected cannabis was later found at his home, worth about $450,000. He will appear at Tsuen Wan Magistracy on December 29.
