ICAC investigating 339 election complaints

*
ICAC

The ICAC has received 351 complaints over irregularities during Sunday's District Council Election. It says 339 are pursuable.

Over 220 of them concern illegal conduct under the Elections (Corrupt & Illegal Conduct) Ordinance, while the remainder are related to suspected corrupt conduct and bribery offences.

The complaints mainly concern allegations of publishing false or misleading statements about candidates, bribing electors and publishing election advertisements with false claims of support.

Complaints about suspected corrupt and illegal conduct in the election can be made on 2526 6366.
