Sau Mau Ping crash injures 36, kills 1

Hong Kong Police

Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sau Mau Ping in which a 22-year-old man was killed and 36 people were injured.


At about 2.37pm, a light van was travelling south down Sau Mau Ping Road and was turning right to Sau Ming Road while a coach carrying 56 passengers was heading towards West Kowloon.


The two vehicles had a head-on collision at the junction of Sau Ming Road.


In the crash, 15 men and 22 women, aged between 22 and 75, were injured.


A 22-year-old male passenger of the van was certified dead at 3.32 pm.
