Cyber swap: Commissioners of the Singapore and Hong Kong police forces Khoo Boon-hui and Tsang Yam-pui sign the e-learning agreement.

Hong Kong Police and their Singaporean counterparts have signed an agreement to share their e-learning packages, experiences and best practices.

They will also explore the possibility of joint development of a common e-learning standard to facilitate the sharing and collaboration of e-learning contents using video conferencing and virtual classrooms.

Speaking at the signing ceremony today, Commissioner of Police Tsang Yam-pui and his Singapore counterpart Khoo Boon-hui said the agreement is a milestone in cementing closer collaboration between the two forces.

It also underlines the two forces' commitment to developing and sharing e-learning experiences and initiatives.

In the years to come, the two forces will collaborate more through e-learning to further the excellent working relationship between them.

The HK Police has actively promoted the use of e-learning and have developed 21 e-learning packages delivered either at the Police Training School, Detective Training School or through the force's intranet system.

In the coming two years, it will develop 13 more packages to further promote e-learning in the force. It also will seek to collaborate with other Government departments and tertiary institutes to develop e-learning.
