A 37-year-old man has been jailed by the District Court for four years over forged credit cards and traffic misconduct.

Extensive investigations revealed that the man, who was an active member of a counterfeit credit card syndicate, had been making fake cards inside an abandoned vehicle.

Police mounted an operation on October 23 last year and arrested him in Wong Tai Sin. In the vehicle, two counterfeit cards and more than 100 sets of stolen credit card data was found in his possession.

A number of stolen goods, including VCD and DVD players, brand-name bags and scarves, were also found. The loss amounted to about $16,000.

He was also charged with possession of a false instrument, handling stolen goods, driving while disqualified, driving without third-party insurance and driving an unlicensed vehicle.
