Three former partners of an engineering company have been charged for allegedly offering over $1.1 million in bribes to Housing Society officers over the use of fire-protection materials.

Chang Yu-lin, 60, Kwok Ah-sing, 52, and Ng Hon-hung, 49, face two counts of conspiracy to offer advantages to public servants.

The Independent Commission Against Corruption charges allege the trio conspired with others to offer advantages to the society's officers as a reward for using their position and influence to specify the use of a certain brand of fire-protection material.

Kwok and Ng face one further count of offering an advantage to a Government officer. They are alleged to have offered a round-trip air ticket to Taipei to an Architectural Services Department Assistant Property Services Officer.

The trio will appear at Eastern Magistracy on Monday.
