Man charged in $7.5m scam
*

A former shipping manager for a Germany-based ironware company has been charged for allegedly deceiving his employer of over $7.5 million in freight fees and duties with bogus invoices.

The Independent Commission Against Corruption said Lam Kwok-leung, 42, formerly employed by Callisto Limited, will appear in Kowloon City Magistracy tomorrow on 21 counts of using a document with intent to mislead his principal. The alleged offences took place between January 2001 and July last year.

Callisto is a company trading in barbecue grills and ironware, with a major clientele in the United States.

The defendant has been released on ICAC bail, pending his court appearance.
