*
Hong Kong Police

Eleven men and five women, aged 30 to 40, were arrested in an anti-soccer-bookmaking operation last night.

After a three-month investigation, Police officers of the Organised Crime & Triad Bureau and Hong Kong Island Crime raided 21 locations over Hong Kong at about 9.45pm.

Sixteen suspected triads were apprehended in 10 of the raided locations.

Soccer betting slips with a face value of $7.2 million, around $100,000 cash and nine computers were also seized.

The arrested are being detained for enquiries.
