Illicit meat seized in stall raids

Food check: A Food & Environmental Hygiene Department officer inspects the chilled mutton seized from two Sham Shui Po meat stalls.

The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department seized 80kg of chilled mutton this morning in a raid on two Sham Shui Po stalls selling the meat without permission.

 

The stalls in Pei Ho Street Market are permitted to sell fresh meat but not chilled. Two men are assisting in the investigation.

 

Fresh provision shop and market stall operators cannot sell fresh, chilled or frozen meat at the same premises without permission.

 

Call 2868 0000 to report suspicious sale of meat.
