Public views key to building ideal arts district

*

The Government is fully aware that community backing and support is the key to building an ideal arts and cultural district. As the West Kowloon Cultural District Project hinges on the wishes of the community, the Government pledges to adopt an open mind, listen carefully to, respect and fully consider the public's views.

From the launch of the public consultation of the screened-in proposals in mid-December to yesterday, a total of 23,905 visitors - a daily average of 2,656 - have visited the exhibition at the Science Museum. This indicates the interest the community has in the development.

People are urged to visit the exhibition and join in the series of discussion forums organised by the Government to air their views on the development proposals. Public views will play a pivotal role in the next phase of the Government's work, and all views will be listened to and considered carefully.
