Tsz Tin Tsuen village in Tuen Mun must be cleared to make way for site formation work for the construction of 5,000 public housing rental units by 2016, the Government says.

Nine vacant properties in the village were taken over in a joint departmental operation today, after the occupants accepted the Government's compensation offer. Other properties were left untouched.

The Government will continue persuading the remaining villagers to accept the offer to avoid delays to the housing project.
