Tuen Mun bus interchange tenders invited
*
Highways Department

The Highways Department is inviting tenders for providing bus-bus interchanges for passengers to switch among bus routes operating via Castle Peak and Tuen Mun Roads from or to the northwest New Territories.

The project will provide two bus-bus interchanges - one on the Kowloon-bound side and the other on Tuen Mun-bound side of Tuen Mun Road - to provide passengers with more route choices and enhance the efficiency of the northwest New Territories bus network.

The works mainly include building bus interchanges near the Siu Lam Interchange and Tai Lam Kok roundabout, widening the Brothers' Bridge, and building a link bridge with two lifts.

Related civil works comprise road reconstruction, provision of shelters, drainage, landscaping, traffic aids and street lighting, slope works, waterworks, and provisioning the civil works for traffic-control surveillance.

Work will start in April for completion in October 2012. The tender invitation was gazetted today.

AECOM Asia Company has been appointed to design and supervise construction. Interested contractors can get tender forms from the company at 12/F Grand Central Plaza, Tower 2, 138 Sha Tin Rural Committee Road, Sha Tin, New Territories.

Tender submissions should be placed by noon, April 9, in the Government Secretariat Tender Box located at the Central Government Offices (East Wing) lower ground floor lift lobby, 20 Lower Albert Road, Hong Kong. For enquiries call 2605 6262.
