A forum will be held on January 21 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel to mark the 100-day countdown to World Expo 2010 Shanghai China and promote Hong Kong's participation in the event.
The forum on vertical density will gather government officials, developers, planners and architects from Hong Kong, Shanghai and New York to explore how the concentration and growth of global cities can be balanced.
Meanwhile, the Education Bureau will hold the World Expo 2010 Shanghai China National Education Expert Talk from 2pm at the Kowloon Tong Education Services Centre on January 20, to enhance understanding of the Shanghai Expo among teachers and students.
Vice-Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Shanghai, and Vice Chairperson of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai China Executive Committee, Zhou Hanmin, will be the key speaker. He will share his experience in the bidding and preparations for the expo, and the challenges and opportunities arising from the mega event.
Vice President of Tongji University, Shanghai, and Former Deputy Director General of the Shanghai Municipal Urban Planning Administration Bureau Prof Wu Jiang will talk about the expo site's design and characteristics and its sustainable development.
