The Innovation Festival 09 kicked off today, to foster an innovative culture in the community and nurture creativity and technology literacy in more young people.
This year's festival features exhibitions and activities focusing on how innovation and technology, such as environmental and robotic technology, can help achieve a more pleasant and convenient living environment.
Speaking at today's opening at Dragon Centre, the Commissioner for Innovation & Technology Janet Wong said students are actively participating in organising various events.
Apart from their innovative works showcased at the booths at the festival, the students will also be on duty at the InnoCarnival and road shows to introduce their projects and share their experience in innovation.
During the Innovation Carnival to be held in the Science Park November 5-8, the public will have the opportunity to view national space engineering-related articles and creations, including a 29-metre rocket and Shenzhou spacecraft and modules.
To promote the Innovation Festival, three road shows will be held at Dragon Centre, Cityplaza in Taikoo Shing, and Tsing Yi Promenade until mid-November.
