Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Rita Lau will co-chair the fourth meeting of the Mainland-Hong Kong Science & Technology Co-operation Committee in Beijing September 25.

Also chairing the meeting will be Vice-Minister of Science & Technology Cao Jianlin.

Permanent Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development (Communications & Technology) Duncan Pescod and the Commissioner for Innovation & Technology Janet Wong will also attend.

The committee organises and co-ordinates technology exchange and collaboration activities between the two places, such as formulating technology collaboration programmes, facilitating interaction among the governments, research institutions and enterprises, as well as fostering commercialisation of research and development results and technology transfer to the industry.
