*

The Chief Executive has appointed nine and reappointed two non-executive directors to the Urban Renewal Authority Board for three years from December 1.

The new appointees are Tanya Chan, Dane Cheng, Prof Desmond Hui, Philip Kan, Daniel Lam, Almon Poon, James To, Wong Kwok-kin and Dr John Wong. They come from different professional backgrounds, including business, culture, finance, surveying, legal and community work sectors.

Serving non-executive directors Walter Chan and Dr Isaac Ng have been reappointed.

Noting urban renewal is an important mission and a challenging task, Secretary for Development Carrie Lam expressed confidence the board members will provide the authority with professional input in achieving its mission to further improve the quality of life in Hong Kong.

The new board has 19 non-official non-executive directors including the chairman, four official non-executive directors and three executive directors. All non-official non-executive directors are appointed in their personal capacity.
